PRSA Announces Award Winners

October 10, 2018

Communication is easy with the right people on your side

Patty Daigle-Hoffman, marketing and communications specialist at Alexandria Industries, received the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Technology PR Professional of the Year Award on October 8, 2018.

The award is intended to recognize one outstanding PRSA Technology Section member who has demonstrated notable or outstanding service and/or contributions to the Section, their employer or organization and to the practice of technology public relations communications.

Patty has been actively involved in supporting PRSA local chapter events and projects in Minnesota for more than 15 years and has been a representative and an advocate for technology and business-to-business public relations in the state.

She also helps within the technology and manufacturing industries by leading and participating in industry conversations – targeting students and adults wanting to change career paths – to change the misconceptions people have about what it is truly like to work in manufacturing. Another passion of Patty’s is to serve and volunteer in community fundraising and non-profit events, e.g., A Night of Hope, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

“We rely on a lean team to manage all aspects of marketing and communications. Patty does an amazing job and is heavily relied on by our team of employees, whenever they need some guidance on communication, or have media opportunities,” said Steve Schabel, Alexandria Industries chief sales and marketing officer. “Patty is always willing to do whatever she can to make sure that Alexandria Industries is sharing consistent messaging, and that we are represented in the best light.”

Patty drives all these efforts along with participating in PRSA and industry events where she can be an advocate for PRSA accreditation and life-long learning.
“I’ve known Patty for more than 20 years. Her capacity to learn the latest skills, to apply new thinking to client service and execute effective PR strategy for any kind of communication challenge is admirable,” said Amy Fisher, vice president at Padilla. “I nominated Patty because she is a role model for other women in complex B2B communications, especially those in Minnesota.”
