Faith In The Boardroom

At the Heart of Our Decisions

faith

According to the New Testament, Jesus made 132 public appearances. Did you know that 122 of them were in the marketplace?

Looking back, 1992 was a tough year for our Alexandria Industries family. One of our well-loved employees was diagnosed with cancer. Another employee lost his young wife to leukemia less than three months after her diagnosis. A third employee was in a car accident and paralyzed. And another employee experienced an explosion in her home, resulting in death. These were just a few of the tragic events we experienced that year.

At the time, one employee’s wife wanted to bring faith into our organization so a group of employees began praying together. The prayers were powerful and our ministry grew from there.

Incorporating Christian principles into our organization’s values and ethics was the right thing to do for Alexandria Industries. We rely on them to make our business decisions. We assure our customers that doing business with Alexandria Industries will provide the best possible product quality and price, along with open and honest communications and ethical behavior that guide our actions every day. We do what is right, even if it takes more time or costs more money.

This business philosophy might seem different but it is not unheard of. It’s an honor to be in the company of many businesses today that live by faith, including: Hobby Lobby, Chic-fil-A, Curves, Forever 21, Guinness Brewery, Habitat for Humanity International, In-N-Out Burger, JetBlue, Marriott, Trijicon, Tyson Foods and Whole Foods, just to name a few.

Jesus listened with compassion and affirmation, helping people understand their personal gifts. By incorporating this thinking into our work, our employees are able to create an openly accepting environment to live, learn and work together. If you have questions about incorporating faith in your workplace, please contact our chaplain Randy Hansen at rhansen@alexandriaindustries.com.
