Alexandria Industries announced today that Tom Welle has been appointed director of engineering. Tom will join a team that will establish the company’s overall strategic direction, manage, and support the assessment of business needs. His focus will be development and administration of engineering, continuous improvement, quality, strategic initiatives, automation, and manufacturing technology systems. He has 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with twenty-nine of those years at Alexandria Industries, where he filled a variety of roles. Tom understands the importance of creating and executing detailed plans to find success and will bring this drive to the engineering department.

As a servant leader, Tom is an ideal person to lead this department. He understands the importance of developing people and he strives to help them succeed and attain the goals they create for themselves. As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Tom understands that a person’s value and job satisfaction increases when they can use their strengths.

Tom’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and expansive experience in planning and execution will continue to bring value to Alexandria Industries. The ability to apply this focus to efficiently manufacture our customers’ custom components will bring increased success to our organization and to our customers.

Most recently, Welle served as strategic initiatives manager where he spearheaded numerous projects, one valued at over $18M, and included teams of up to 120 individuals. Prior to this, as senior automation engineer, Tom was deeply entrenched in the production of the custom components we produce, and the equipment used to manufacture them. His role ensured that our customers’ components were completed efficiently, consistently, and met their high-quality requirements.
