It Doesn't Happen By Accident!

Alexandria Industries recognizes its obligation to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. We take the wellness of our employees at every location seriously.

Emergency Response Team – Volunteer First Responders

Nearly 60 dedicated and caring employees throughout Alexandria Industries facilities make up our first responder teams. The teams receive high praise from the medical community, law enforcement and other area businesses, some of which have modeled their medical emergency response teams after our program. These individuals are certified every two years and participate in many training sessions and mock disaster drills to prepare them for emergencies. Many of them are volunteer first responders in the communities where they live in.

Our Committees

Our facility safety committees meet monthly to review injury frequencies and trends, oversee compliance of the safety program, and respond to safety recommendations.

Our Training

Every employee is required to attend our annual "Right To Know" training on identifying and eliminating hazards and potential hazards in the workplace, and in hazardous work activities.

Just like with our quality and production systems, we are continuously working to keep our employees on the leading edge of any new technology or improvements in the training fields.

Disaster Recovery Plan

Many hours are spent annually preparing for a range of disastrous events that may disrupt our business, facilities or employees. A team of individuals review processes and procedures and run drills to ensure we have solutions readily available to protect the well-being of our employees, our customers' products, and our facilities.

Awards

Alexandria Industries was previously awarded the State of Minnesota's MNSTAR certification.

A Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recognition program, MNSTAR recognizes companies where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health management systems that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and result in immediate and long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses.

Key elements of this comprehensive program include:

  • Management, leadership and employee involvement
  • Allocation of resources to address safety issues
  • Systems that identify and control workplace hazards
  • A plan for employee safety training and education.

Safety is the number one priority at all of our locations. In fact, Employee Well-Being is one of our core values. We want our employees to be able to leave work unharmed, so they can enjoy life with their families and loved ones.
